Is agnosticism a viable philsophical position? Is it even possible to be 'undecided' on the existence of god?
I assert that agnosticism is actually a form of atheism. Moreover, the commonly-used definition is misunderstood today, allowing people to escape to a 'middle-ground' that doesn't really exist.

All agnostics are either theists or atheists. There are no strictly agnostics. Agnosticism is a separate idea from theism and atheism.
There are agnostic theists and atheists.
There are gnostic theists and atheists.
Theism is the belief in a god or gods. Atheism includes everyone else, without exception. If you're not a theist, you're an atheist.
